WHat we do

Our hand-milled art supplies are composed solely of our own in-house forumulated pigments. 

Some of these pigments come from stones we have foraged, and some are from impressive suppliers.

FUN FACT:   We choose to say "hand-milled" instead of hand-ground to pay homage to our name.

When we began  making art supplies for SWM in 2017 we noticed something missing from the handmade market.

We wanted to see some paints created by skillfully combining commercially available pigments with unique hand-ground pigments.  

So we created them!  We use these mixes in our other supplies as well.

Our products are crafted with carefully vetted supplies.  We verify the ethical background, ecological practices, and overall quality of every supplier from which we purchase.

We also follow many time-tested historical methods in the creation of our art materials.   

This gives artists assurance that our products will stand up to time and meet exceptional standards.
