We do make some of our pigments ourselves. Some of them are made from sources we foraged ourselves. Some of them are made from stones or other items we have purchased from reputable retailers. These items can be found in the Hand-Milled section of our shop. The product detail will note when we have hand foraged for an items ingredients.
We also use commercial pigments in our Classic and Creative art supplies. We strive to know a lot about the companies we purchase from and to pass that information onto you, so that you can also make ethical, safe, and well informed decisions.
In the past we have allowed individuals to place reserves on coming items so that they did not miss out on an item due to a quick sale of all inventory. Unfortunately due to the new format our shop is using and our decrease in staff, this will no longer be an option we can offer. We apologize for any inconvenience.
As some of our artists are aware, we shut down our business when covid-19 took over as we were not an essential business. Additionally, all of us on staff chose to quarantine. Following the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 we realized we would be moving our studio to Virginia. We chose to continue our break as we prepared our offices and family for the reopening of SWM in this new state.
We strive to have every single order shipped within seven calendar days.
Yes, we do! We will work with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your Stoneworks Mill purchase. For more information see our Term and Conditions (link at the bottom of the page).
Stoneworks Mill officially opened May 15, 2018 on Etsy. However, Kelli started making art supplies as a child, turning berries into ink, long grasses into paper, and branches into pens.
In 2017 she began applying her obsession with science and geology to creation of pigments.

Hello all,
We had intended to spend some time away from the studio, and online shop, to rest and refresh over the holiday season, and then return strong in January.
However, some unexpected family events have occurred that will require us to put the shop on pause until further notice.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to be up and running again soon, once we have things sorted with our family obligations.
Caring for our family is the most important aspect of our lives, especially for our elderly family members.
Love to all!
